Before I started my project, I had several options that I needed to choose from and it was quite hard choosing because they were all pretty good ideas. I finally settled on one which is what you see right below this text. I did my project on a video about how we can all protect ourselves during this coronavirus pandemic and at the end, I added a few words of encouragement for people who may be feeling down and broken as a result of the virus.
After I had the idea, I needed to figure out the right apps and software that could help me achieve the results I wanted. For some reason, I do not have access to Adobe products so I decided to look for other apps that are similar.
The apps I used for my project are iMovie, Videotyper, Canva, and adobe premier rush. I divided the parts of the video and wrote what editing effects I wanted to add to each part of it to determine the best app that would do the work perfectly. This was easy for me because I could spread the work out and do a little part of it each day until it was all ready to be put together. I used 5 to 6 days to complete it.
On the first day, I used videotyper to type everything I wanted to say. The videotyper app allows you to record while you are typing and also gives you the option to choose if you want the sound of the typing at the background or not. It was very cool to discover that it could do that and it was very easy to use and straight forward.
On the second day, I used Canva to create the first part of the video and also the quotes at the end of the video. I loved canva, it had so many cool themes and templates available. It was also free and very easy to use.
Thirdly, I used premier rush to divide the videos I had made with videotyper. I had to do this because I wanted to be able to insert gifs and other images in between easily.
Lastly, I used iMovie to put the entire video together. I imported all the videos and images I had created on iMovie and arranged them the way I wanted. I also used it to make the transitions in the video and also the audio sound in the background of the video. I added different effects to the audio so it sounds different after every 45 seconds. However, honestly, it was hard for me to tell the difference between the sounds. When we did the audio assignment in class, I really liked how you could really hear and identify the effect when we used Adobe.
Overall, I really enjoyed working on this project. I am happy that I had the opportunity to use other apps and software that were not what I was already used to. I did learn a lot.
